Sherryaeri considers music and partying to be highly political and therefore pays attention not only to the selection of the artists that sherryaeri plays, but also to the potential of resistance of the music genres. Sherryaeri tries to showcase artists who don’t get as much space as they should and mixes them with Arabic sounds. Sheryaeri concentrates mainly on Hip Hop, Baile and Mahraganat but takes us through different genres to give us a sense of belonging and celebrate our multidimensional realities. One thing is clear: Sherryaeri’s sounds are always about booty shaking, de-stressing and releasing the pressure of living beneath the capitalist, patriarchal white supremacy.
